Current and Prior Assessment Practices Survey Reports

Government Code section 15645 requires that the BOE prepare a written survey report of its findings and recommendations upon completion of a survey of the procedures and practices of an Assessor. The BOE meets with the current Assessor to discuss matters that may be included in the survey report. The report may include the Assessor's response to each recommendation. In addition, if a survey reviews a former Assessor's procedures and practices, the BOE will notify the former Assessor and meet, upon their request, to discuss matters that may be included in the published survey report.

The survey report is issued within 12 months after the date the BOE began the survey.

Government Code section 15646 provides that copies of the final survey reports are to be filed with the Governor, Attorney General, Assessor, the boards of supervisors, the grand juries and assessment appeals boards of the county, other Assessors, and on opening day of each regular session, with the Senate and Assembly.
