Help Using the BOE Web Site
If you are experiencing problems with the BOE website, check the following before contacting the WebIssues:
Web Browsers
The BOE website has been tested using the following web browsers:
- Chrome v51 and v50
- Internet Explorer 11 and 10
- Mozilla Firefox v47 and 46
Web Traffic
The CA.gov website may be experiencing a lot of traffic. Our recommendation: Just be patient and allow complete pages to download before you try clicking any of the links.
Your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
If you experience the same problem on several sites, that suggests your ISP may be having a problem. Contact them to find out.
Your Modem
Your modem may be too slow to download our web pages, causing the page to timeout before it is completely loaded. You might want to think about upgrading it, since it is also probably causing you problems accessing the web in general.
Memory
Though our web pages aren't overly large, some do include graphical elements. It is possible your computer does not have enough memory, and you might want to consider additional memory.
Document Formats
This website contains links to documents in formats which cannot be directly opened by your web browser. If you do not already have software that supports these formats, please follow the links below to download the free readers that can open these documents.
PDF Reader (.pdf extension)
Some forms can be filled in online and printed out for mailing to the Board. Additional instructions are available.
Acrobat Reader by Adobe – all platforms
Microsoft Word Viewer (.doc, .docx and .rtf extensions)
- Download Word Viewer
- Word documents can be opened with Appleworks for Mac OSX, and with Open Office Writer for Unix/Linux
Microsoft Excel Viewer (.xls and .xlsx extension)
- Download Excel Viewer
- Excel Documents can be opened with Appleworks for Mac OSX, and with Open Office Calc for Unix/Linux
