Training and Certification Unit

Description

The Board of Equalization's (BOE) Training and Certification Unit is responsible for:

1. Certifying persons engaged in performing the duties of an appraiser or an assessment analyst for property tax purposes;
2. Monitoring yearly training requirements for certified appraisers and assessment analysts;
3. Providing training on appraisal-related topics by way of instructor-led courses, webinars, and self-studies developed by the BOE; and
4. Developing self-study training sessions for members of county assessment appeals boards and county staff involved in processing assessment appeals applications.
