RICHMOND: Our next item is P7, 6 Technology Deputy Director's Report, P7.1, 7 CROS Project Update and Actions. 8 MS. MA: Welcome, Ms. Fleming. 9 MS. FLEMING: Good morning. How is 10 everyone this morning? 11 MS. MA: Good morning. 12 MS. FLEMING: I'm Brenda Fleming, 13 Madam Chair, Honorable Members, Chief Information 14 Office and Deputy for the Technology Services 15 Department. 16 I appreciate the opportunity as usual to 17 present for you today. 18 As you know, August 30th, the August Board 19 Meeting, there was an award for the contract to 20 CROS -- for CROS to FAST Enterprises. 21 I just want to pause again to thank you all 22 for your support and approval of the contract. 23 Not much heavy lifting this month, because 24 mostly it's organizational as the vendor and staff 25 are getting ready. 26 So on boarding activities are -- for the 27 Fast staff -- which they refer to be called 28 FASTies -- are underway this month. 3 1 So today two FASTies are in the building. 2 They'll be located on the 10th floor, with more 3 expected in the October time frame. 4 And if I may pause, there is a footnote. 5 We'd like to invite you over -- if we get everyone 6 settled, we'd like to invite you over at your 7 convenience, take a tour of the 10th floor area so 8 you can see where the CROS Project activities are 9 mostly going to be occurring. And we'll work with 10 your offices to schedule that. 11 Approximately 12 FASTies will arrive a 12 little bit more the first week of October. And then 13 as we get to later in the month, we should get up to 14 about 30 or 40 staff. 15 A footnote there, FAST staff actually moved 16 to the Sacramento area. The leases are being 17 signed, facilities and kids and families are being 18 moved in, enrolling -- and being enrolled in 19 schools, etc. 20 Can you hear me okay? Okay. 21 This is a welcome change from the usual 22 IT Project, where Project staff fly in and out for 23 the job location. They will actually become local 24 residents. 25 We're establishing development in training 26 and technical environments, as well as the permanent 27 environments for all of the testing, all of the 28 training activities. 4 1 Government training is in process to make 2 sure that we know well and efficiently and timely 3 how to make the decisions to make sure we've got all 4 of the right data to make those decisions. 5 On the budget side, we're finalizing the 6 Special Project Report 4, which is gonna true up the 7 estimates that were given to us before. We'll true 8 them up, and that's the documentation. 9 We'll work with finance going forward for 10 the BCPs for 17, 18 and ongoing. 11 CROS Project schedules also will correct 12 all those actives. Not much for you to do on those, 13 these are just general project management, sort of 14 administrative and management activities that is 15 important for us to get down to that level of 16 detail. So we'll make sure that we've got all those 17 things in order. 18 We'll continue to escalate those things 19 that are of risk, or if -- where we need decisions, 20 especially on policy issues, etc. 21 We'll continue with the Organizational 22 Change Management Activities, etc. 23 From -- and let me pause. 24 Any questions at this point? Any concerns? 25 Okay. 26 From a budget perspective, just in general, 27 project-to-date, we're on project about 77 percent 28 since the 2011 time frame, the project going 5 1 forward. So everything is on track, there's no red 2 or yellow flags at this point. We're still green. 3 So no major issues. 4 That concludes this month's report for 5 CROS.
