Small Business Fairs – A free seminar for small business owners put on by several tax agencies to assist with tax aspects of your business. Talk to experts from the Board of Equalization, Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board and Employment Development Department.
Nonprofit Seminars – Free seminars to discuss tax laws, exemptions, and reporting requirements as they apply to non-profit or exempt organizations.
Sales and Use Tax Classes Available – These instructor led classes assist taxpayers in the following areas: preparing a sales and use tax return; supporting and reporting exempt sales; using a resale certificate; determining what is taxable and non-taxable labor; and maintaining adequate records. Participants are encouraged to bring in their own sales and use tax return along with any documentation pertaining to that return period.
Cigarette/Tobacco Product Classes – Free classes for sellers of cigarette and tobacco products. Discussion will cover license requirements, help prepare you for the Board's inspection, avoid penalties, and answer your questions about California's cigarette and tobacco tax laws.
