Electronic Filing (eFiling) for Sales & Use Tax

Why Started:

Sales and use taxpayers file over 3.2 million returns and prepayments annually. eFiling allows the BOE to create government efficiencies and generate cost savings inherent in doing business electronically and at the same time provide taxpayers an easy, quick and accurate method to file a return.

Year Started:
eFiling began in 2001 with third party electronic return originators. BOE-file, the BOE’s own eFiling program, was implemented in September 2005.
What's Available:

Nearly all sales and use tax accounts are eligible to eFile. BOE’s eFile system offers two convenient methods to login and three convenient payment methods.
