The Board appointed Ms. Kristine Cazadd as Executive Director of the State Board of Equalization (BOE) beginning October 1, 2011. In 2010, Kristine served as the Interim Executive Director. Kristine has been Chief Counsel for the Legal Department for the BOE since 2005. Previously, she was the Assistant Chief Counsel for the Property Tax Division and has been a tax attorney with the BOE for fourteen years.

Kristine has been the lead property tax attorney responsible for the drafting and publication of numerous property tax rules and regulations, legislative proposals, property tax manuals, assessors' handbooks, and published legal opinions covering a range of topics, including petroleum properties, mineral rights, agricultural and open space property, new construction, the assessment of personal property and fixtures, Proposition 13, change in ownership, and exemptions.

In 2007, Kristine received the Los Angeles County Bar Association Award of Excellence by a Government Official.

Prior to her employment with the State Board of Equalization, Kristine was staff counsel with the Enforcement Division of the Fair Political Practices Commission, and before that practiced municipal law for ten years as the City Attorney for several cities in Amador County. Kristine received her law degree from the University of Santa Clara and undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.
